UNDERSTANDING THE INDO US RELATIONS UNDER OBAMA AND TRUMPH TENURE - 

 PRESIDENCY UNDER BARACK OBAMA 

Starting from when obama became president on 20 january 2009

BARACK OBAMA falls under "DEMOCRAT" political category mainly because of ideology or

 "LEFT" -left leaning liberal social political party 

now when obama came into power u.s was under financial crisis known as RECESSION 

moreover tht time u.s was also suffering from

1) WARS IN AFGANISTAN AND IRAQ 

2) NUCLEAR DIPLOMACY WITH IRAN 

U.S started showing interest in india when hilary clinton  in 2009 on a 5 days trip but things didn't really went satisfactory 

most importantly CLIMATE CHANGE CONCERNS was a issue 

now u.s wanted india to cut down its carbon emission but tht wouldn't work for india as india is a developing country and its carbon emission play a major role in economy

- further in 2009 obama gave financial aid to pakistan worth 7.5 billion dollars

thn manmohan singh (thn prime minister) criticised the step and said pakistan will use tht money against india 

- when obama visited india on 6 nov 2010 , he backed india for  a permanent seat in U.N SECURITY COUNCIL , actually tht was some superficial talks because after tht in G20 summit in south korea U.S announced plan worth 600 billion dollars to boost economy of usa ,every other country condemned but  india supported 

- Now U.S was a nuclear power and didn't really wanted india to become one 

but we somehow test fired our first nuclear weapon in pokhran in 1998 decieving u.s survelliance satelite 

now one country can only make money out of nuclear weapons by exporting thm and to do so one  has to be part of these 4 regimes 

1) MISSILE TECHNOLOGY CONTROL REGIME

2) THE WASSENGER GROUP 

3) THE AUSTRALIA GROUP 

4) NUCLEAR SUPPLIER GROUP 

currently india is memeber of 3 except the nuclear supplier group tht too in 2014 under narender modi 

- From 2009 to 2017 u.s provided india advanced weapon systems from  C-130JS SUPER HERCULES to APACHE HELICOPTERS 

- U.S has been  a good aly of pakistan since pak backed up u.s in u.s iraq wars 

U.S also sold 8 F-16 to pakistan inn 2016 

now in  a nutshell if we understand 

u.s use india to counter china and russia because of indian dominance in indian ocean 

nd u.s also use pakistan to control india

like trump suspended 2 billion  dollar trade with pakistan but also refused to link role of pakistan and kashmir issue in uri attack 

this is called SUB-CONVENTIONAL WARFARE 

u.s has some primary issues which remains the same whosoever be the president because u.s is capitalist country nd president can't do much in foreign policies  

these fixed  national interests are as follow

1) defence and security

2) climate change 

etc. 

moreover we can also say u.s gives aid to pakistan nd pakistan uses it to start a proxy war against india nd india end up buying weapon systems from america 

now under JOE BIDEN presidency 

trump was republican ( right wing ) 

as bjp in india is a right wing political party 

joe biden is democrat ( left wing)

nothing much will change

- china , pak will be having a smooth ride 

-u.s may ask to be a mediator in kashmir issue but it will not because as discussed earlier SUB CONVENTIONAL WAFARE which means to keep to countries neither in peace nor in war 

- will keep europeans on priority bcz of     NATO 

as we sum up indo us relations not gonna impact much 

we should now understand tht U.S just use india for its self interests .
